The mixed-use development required sophisticated screening solutions that could address diverse rooftop equipment needs while maintaining architectural consistency across the building's facade. Standard utility screening would have created an industrial appearance unsuitable for the upmarket residential and commercial tenancies, while the variety of equipment types demanded both solid privacy screening and ventilated panels to maintain optimal equipment performance.
The project faced additional complexity with the need to integrate screening across multiple roof levels and building zones, each requiring different functional performance while contributing to a cohesive architectural vision. The development's prominent location meant that rooftop equipment was highly visible from surrounding buildings and upper-level units, making aesthetic appeal critical for property values and tenant satisfaction. Traditional screening solutions would have failed to balance the competing demands of visual appeal, equipment ventilation, and long-term durability in the challenging rooftop environment.
Con-form Group's integrated Conceal system provided the ideal dual-purpose solution, strategically combining solid Conceal Wall© panels in areas requiring complete visual privacy with perforated Conceal AeroWall© sections where equipment ventilation was essential. The Conceal Wall system created clean, smooth lines that completely obscured unsightly equipment, while the creative perforations in the AeroWall sections delivered essential airflow while maintaining visual appeal through their eye-catching geometric patterns.
The modular interlocking design enabled seamless transitions between solid and perforated sections, creating a unified architectural feature that appeared as an intentional design element rather than functional equipment screening. The selected colour palette complemented the building's facade materials, with the perforated sections adding visual interest and depth to what would otherwise be utilitarian screening.
Con-form Group provided comprehensive design and installation services tailored specifically for the high-end development environment, with architectural design teams creating screening layouts that optimised both functional performance and visual appeal across the complex rooftop environment. Our design team developed detailed shop drawings that coordinated the strategic placement of solid and perforated panels to address specific equipment requirements while maintaining architectural consistency. The project included careful coordination with the development's architectural team to ensure the screening systems enhanced rather than detracted from the building's premium aesthetic.
The project was completed at a luxury mixed-use development in inner-city Perth, Western Australia.
