Cranes are an integral part of our projects but there is a big difference in how we use them compared to the traditional method of using structural steel for HVACR rooftop platforms.
Due to its excessive weight, structural steel requires larger cranes with greater lifting capacity…and they could be needed for weeks. Even months. Not just to move the beams to the rooftop but also to manoeuvre them into position as each section of the platform was being constructed.
Compare this to the alternative using our ultra-lightweight platform systems. We only require a smaller crane to lift our flat pack on to the roof. That’s it, after that it can leave. The beams and joists are so light that our installers can pick up a beam at each end and simply walk it across into position. They handle each section of frame without any mechanical assistance.
In fact, our platforms are so light that sometimes we lift the complete deck with its screen in one go.
