The Vegepod Challenge formed a part of the launch of our Internal Wellbeing Program, which includes nature-based therapy. Through this program, we hope to inspire healthy eating, mental well-being, as well as healthy competition!
Our Vegepod Challenge was split into two stages – building and planting then, bringing their pods to plate (ie. a Cooking Challenge).
For Stage One – the ‘Build & Plant stage’, each team had soil, a Vegepod, fertiliser and tools waiting for them. Every team approached the challenge differently, the Engineering team chose to plant seeds, while our Sales team chose to transfer their already grown backyard vegetables directly into their Vegepod. No rules were broken! Though some of us we’re challenging their strategy,
This afternoon-fun filled challenge was brimming with laughter, lively activity and a healthy competitive race to secure the win! The Sales team won the challenge, to the cheery dismay of the rest of us. Their reward… a two point lead for the Stage Two challenge!
Teams then nurtured their pods for 77 days.
It was then time for ‘Stage Two’, the Cooking Challenge – where teams were asked to cook and present a dish to the whole team using their Vegepod produce as the main ingredient!
It’s fair to say each team pulled out all the stops to present a dish that was fresh, vegetarian and delicious! On the whole, we were all impressed over how beautifully every team converted their efforts, love, and care into these exquisite dishes.
Our amazing Production Team emerged victorious, winning the vote for Best Dish of the Day, with their Palak Paneer creation. Made from fresh spinach picked the morning of the cook-off, each team member of the Production Team won a gift-voucher for their efforts.
Bonus, our team mates can still harvest their home-grown fresh herbs and veggies and take them home to their families.
